We are seeking a detail-oriented and fast-learning Medical Scribe to assist physicians by accurately documenting patient encounters in real time. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent typing speed, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role plays a critical part in improving provider efficiency and enhancing patient care.
High school diploma or equivalent (pre-med, nursing, or health sciences students preferred).
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare documentation practices.
Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 50–60 WPM preferred).
Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, or similar.
Excellent English communication and listening skills.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a clinical or virtual setting.
Must maintain professionalism, attention to detail, and a high level of confidentiality.
Document patient encounters in real-time during medical examinations or telehealth consultations.
Accurately record patient history, symptoms, diagnoses, procedures, lab results, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Maintain thorough and up-to-date charts under physician supervision.
Assist providers in locating patient information such as imaging results, test reports, and past medical records.
Ensure documentation meets legal, ethical, and compliance standards (HIPAA).
Prepare referral letters, discharge summaries, and other clinical documentation as needed.
Maintain strict patient confidentiality and professional integrity.
Prior experience as a medical scribe or in a clinical support role is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree or coursework in health sciences, biology, or a related field.
Willingness to work US-based time zones if the role is remote.
Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and clinical documentation improvement (CDI) concepts.
